Toasted coconut (coco queimado) anchors the profile, providing a rich, creamy sweetness that complements deep layers of bittersweet chocolate and espresso-like roast. The addition of Cumaru introduces complex notes of vanilla, almond, and tobacco, while the Umburana seeds contribute a signature spicy warmth reminiscent of cinnamon and herbal woodiness. At 10.5% ABV, the beer exhibits a velvety, full-bodied mouthfeel with well-integrated alcohol warmth. Dark fruit esters of plum and raisin weave through the mid-palate, leading to a lingering, harmonious finish where roast and exotic spice converge.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). It supports a thick, dark tan head with moderate retention and produces visible legs upon swirling, indicating high viscosity and alcohol content.
Aroma. High intensity with a complex blend of bittersweet chocolate, roasted coffee, and toasted coconut. Cumaru provides a strong vanilla and tonka bean presence, while Umburana adds spicy notes of cinnamon and clove. Low esters of prune and raisin are present alongside a smooth, warming alcohol character.
Taste. Intense flavors of roasted grain, dark chocolate, and charred malt. The toasted coconut provides a sweet, nutty middle, followed by the complex spicy-wood character of Umburana and the almond-like sweetness of Cumaru. Bitterness is medium-high, balancing the rich malt sweetness. The finish is long and warming with lingering notes of spice, cocoa, and dried fruit.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A significant but smooth alcohol warmth is present, enhancing the overall richness without being sharp or solventy.
