Caperuza Hefe-Weizen presents an amplified sensory profile of a classic Weissbier, bolstered by a 6.4% ABV that adds depth. The experience is defined by intense banana esters and delicate vanilla notes that weave through a bready, doughy malt core. The presence of noble hops provides a subtle, sophisticated herbal counterpoint to the inherent sweetness of the grain. Visually, it is strikingly turbid, ranging from straw to deep gold with a thick, moussy foam. A light citric acidity brightens the palate, leading to a clean, fruity finish that remains refreshing despite its slightly higher strength and creamy, full-bodied texture.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (3-6 SRM). Opaque and highly turbid due to significant wheat content and suspended yeast. Features a thick, moussy, and exceptionally long-lasting white head with dense lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominated by ripe banana esters and light clove phenols, with a distinct hint of vanilla. A strong grainy-sweet wheat aroma reminiscent of fresh bread dough is present. Very low herbal noble hop character and a faint, refreshing citric tang.
Taste. Leading with a balance of sweet malt and fruit, featuring pronounced banana and doughy wheat flavors supported by a grainy-sweet Pilsner malt foundation. Bitterness is very low, allowing the fruity and vanilla notes to take center stage. The finish is relatively dry and crisp with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a characteristic fluffy, creamy fullness. High carbonation creates a spritzy, effervescent mouthfeel. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but smooth, contributing to a substantial feel without being heavy.
