This American IPA is a bold, hop-forward tribute to "the people," defined by its massive dry-hop profile and a distinct, grainy backbone. The nose is an explosion of American hops, delivering intense layers of resinous pine, zesty grapefruit, and hints of tropical fruit. Beneath the hop intensity, the addition of Rye provides a spicy, earthy complexity that anchors the sensory experience and adds a "touch of cheek" to the malt profile. It pours with a firm, off-white head and a deep golden hue. On the palate, a sharp, clean bitterness cuts through the spicy malt, leading to a bone-dry, lingering finish that highlights its West Coast-inspired roots.
Appearance. Deep gold to light reddish-amber (8–12 SRM). Clear with a medium-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent notes of grapefruit zest, resinous pine, and crushed pine needles. A low, grainy-sweet malt character is supported by the distinct peppery and spicy notes of Rye. Fermentation is clean with no significant esters.
Taste. Initial impression is aggressively hop-forward with flavors of citrus rind and resin. A low to medium-low toasted malt backbone is present, though the Rye provides a sharp, spicy grain character that enhances the hop bite. High bitterness is clean and well-supported. The finish is very dry and crisp with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth but slightly peppery texture from the rye. Medium-high carbonation. Alcohol warmth is very light and smooth, and the finish is free of harsh astringency.
