CANEDIGUERRA Fernweh
Fernweh captures a nostalgic journey back to the early 2000s, blending classic West Coast intensity with a contemporary, sinuous elegance. This American IPA collaboration with Lervig bursts with a prominent hop profile of pithy citrus and sticky pine resin. Despite its robust 7.6% ABV, the beer maintains a sophisticated balance, where a clean, grainy malt foundation supports an assertive and intriguing bitterness. The interplay between modernized classic ingredients and traditional flavor profiles creates a sensory experience that is both familiar and refined, finishing with a crisp, resinous linger and a smooth, integrated warmth that avoids any harsh edges.
Appearance. Deep gold to light reddish-amber with excellent clarity. It supports a medium-sized, off-white head with good persistence and moderate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by citrus zest, grapefruit, and fresh pine resin. A low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a neutral backdrop, accompanied by a very light fermentation fruitiness and a hint of smooth alcohol.
Taste. High hop flavor echoes the aroma with notes of orange peel and resinous sap. A medium-high bitterness is firm but clean, supported by low, bready malt. The finish is dry to medium-dry, leaving a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste that remains crisp.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, sinuous texture. Carbonation is medium-high, and there is a very light, integrated alcohol warmth that is smooth rather than hot.
