This English IPA presents a modern twist on the classic style, leading with a bright sensory profile driven by Citra and Rakau hops. The aroma is highly expressive, bursting with zesty lime, grapefruit, and stone fruit notes, supported by a subtle, bready malt backbone. On the palate, the hop intensity remains firm, delivering crisp citrus and a touch of orchard fruit sweetness before transitioning into a clean, assertive bitterness. Its dry finish and medium-light body make it exceptionally refreshing. While grounded in British tradition with its underlying biscuity character, the dry-hop additions create a vibrant, aromatic experience that balances classic structure with contemporary fruit-forward intensity.
Appearance. Dark gold (approx. 7 SRM). Features a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head with good lacing. Displays slight haze characteristic of a dry-hopped ale, though remains largely clear.
Aroma. Moderate to high hop intensity, dominated by citrus-orange, lime, and grapefruit from Citra, alongside orchard fruit and subtle apricot notes from Rakau. Low bready and biscuity malt support. Low fruity esters are present, complementing the tropical hop profile.
Taste. Assertive hop bitterness is immediate, followed by flavors of grapefruit zest and stone fruit. Malt provides a medium-low bready and slightly toasty foundation. The balance is firmly hop-forward. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, clean bitterness that never becomes harsh.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the dry sensation on the tongue. Alcohol warmth is very low, making for a refreshing and highly drinkable experience.
