Appearance. Very dark brown with mahogany highlights (approx. 28 SRM). Clear with a moderate, persistent, light tan head that leaves fine lacing.

Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominant notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, and toasted bread. The hop aroma is pronounced, featuring resinous pine, grapefruit, and a hint of tropical fruit, complemented by a low herbal spice. Low fruity esters.

Taste. Initial malty-rich flavors of chocolate, caramel, and nuts. Medium-high bitterness provides a firm balance. Hop flavors are citrusy and piney, reflecting the American hop additions. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering aftertaste of both dark malt and resinous hops, devoid of any harsh roasted or burnt character.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate carbonation. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its strength.

Einmal ins Glas gefüllt fällt zunächst die intensive Kastanienfarbe des Camba Hop Gun auf. Die Schaumkrone des Bieres tendiert dabei leicht ins Beige und haftet sehr lange am Glas. Beim Geruchstest offenbaren sich dann sehr fruchtige Noten. Diese erinnern an Pfirsich, Rosinen und Amarenakirschen. Begleitet wird das Ganze von einer Spur Karamell.

Geschmacklich kommt das Camba Bavaria Hop Gun zunächst sehr erfrischend und leichtfüßig daher. Auf der Zunge sind fruchtige Cocktailnoten zu erkennen die an Marille, Pfirsich und Nektarine erinnern. Daraus entsteht ein interessantes Zusammenspiel aus einem fruchtigen Cocktail und der leichten Hopfenbitternis. Beides zusammen wird von einer weichen Karamellnote unterlegt. Mit 6,4% Alkohol ist das Bier etwas stärker als ein normales dunkles Bier. Trotzdem lässt es sich noch sehr gut trinken.
