This Belgian-style Witbier pours with a signature milky, pale straw glow and a towering, frothy head. Enticing, bright aromas of zesty sweet orange peel and cracked coriander seeds mingle with a delicate, bready wheat malt backbone. On the palate, it delivers a lively, effervescent burst of citrus fruitiness and subtle peppery spice, underpinned by a creamy mouthfeel from the unmalted wheat. Balanced and remarkably refreshing, it finishes crisp and dry with a gentle, lingering herbal touch. It is a wonderfully classic, sprightly interpretation that beautifully captures the yeast-driven fruit and spice synergy of a traditional Witbier.
Appearance. Pale straw to light yellow in color (approx. 3 SRM). It exhibits a highly cloudy, milky, whitish-yellow haze with a thick, dense, white moussy head that displays excellent retention and leaves delicate lacing on the glass.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Bright, zesty aromas of sweet orange peel and a perfumy, lemony coriander spice dominate. Behind the spice, there is a clean, grainy, and bready wheat malt aroma with a faint hint of honey. Light peppery and floral Belgian yeast esters are present, with no hop aroma or diacetyl.
Taste. The initial impression is refreshingly crisp and sprightly. Soft, bready, and grainy wheat malt flavors form a gentle base for prominent citrusy orange and subtle, lemony coriander spice. Hop bitterness is low, allowing the fruit and spice to shine without cloying sweetness. The finish is dry, clean, and refreshing, leaving a brief, pleasant aftertaste of citrus and soft wheat.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture derived from the unmalted wheat. High, effervescent carbonation provides a lively prickle on the tongue. There is no perceived alcohol warmth, astringency, or harshness, making it highly refreshing.
