Cerveza Caleya

This Hazy IPA from Caleya presents a lush sensory experience driven by a massive double dry hopping of Citra and Nelson Sauvin. The profile is defined by a vivid interplay between the bright citrus and tropical lime of the Citra hops and the distinctive, sophisticated white grape and gooseberry notes of Nelson Sauvin. Its appearance is appropriately opaque with a luminous pale gold hue, suggesting the soft, pillowy texture that follows. The malt character remains elegantly understated, offering a clean, bready foundation that allows the juice-forward hop intensity to shine without overwhelming bitterness, culminating in a smooth, fruit-saturated finish.

Appearance. Pale gold with a luminous, opaque haze. Features a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring layers of pink grapefruit, lime, and tropical passionfruit. Distinctive notes of crushed white grapes and gooseberry emerge from the Nelson Sauvin. Background malt is clean and lightly bready; fermentation is neutral with supportive fruity esters.

Taste. High hop flavor of mango, passionfruit, and citrus. The Nelson Sauvin contribution is evident through flavors of Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Malt flavor is low and doughy. Perceived bitterness is low-medium and exceptionally smooth, leading to an off-dry, juicy finish with no harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full, pillowy body with a soft, silky mouthfeel. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any astringency or hop burn.
