Cerveza Caleya

This Hazy IPA presents an intense sensory experience driven by a complex Double Dry Hop regimen. The heavy use of Citra in the whirlpool provides a foundational citrus brightness, while the fermentation additions of Lupomax Bru-1, Lupomax Amarillo, and Eclipse elevate the profile with layers of sweet mandarin, pineapple, and tropical stone fruit. It pours with a characteristic opaque glow and a dense, meringue-like head. The palate is defined by a remarkably thick, smooth, and creamy texture that carries the vibrant hop oils across the tongue, finishing with a lingering, juice-like citrus aftertaste and a soft, restrained bitterness.

Appearance. Deep straw to golden-orange with a profound, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Supports a persistent, rocky white head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics dominated by ripe mandarin and zest from Eclipse and Citra, complemented by the distinct pineapple and stone fruit notes of Lupomax Bru-1. Background malt is neutral and bready, serving only to support the massive hop profile.

Taste. A tropical and citrus fruit explosion follows the aroma, with Lupomax Amarillo adding floral orange notes. The bitterness is moderate and well-integrated, never harsh. Malt provides a soft, grainy sweetness that balances the hop saturation, leading to a smooth, juice-like finish.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a notable creaminess and a thick, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate, and the 6.6% ABV provides a very light, well-integrated warmth without any astringency.
