Caleya Poltergeist is an indulgent Imperial Stout that masterfully balances high-intensity roasted character with confectionery decadence. The sensory profile is defined by a foundation of caramelized and roasted malts that provide deep notes of dark chocolate and espresso. This is elevated by the addition of cocoa nibs and toasted flaked coconut, which create a rich, macaroon-like aromatic profile. Vanilla integration rounds out the sharper roast edges, contributing to a smooth, dessert-like complexity. At 11% ABV, the beer offers a significant but well-integrated warmth that supports a dense, creamy texture, finishing with a harmonious balance of bittersweet chocolate and lingering coconut.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a thick, dense, deep tan head with moderate retention. High viscosity is apparent through prominent legs on the glass side.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, cocoa, and toasted coconut. Moderate vanilla sweetness complements the roasted malt profile. Subtle background esters of dried plum and prune are present, alongside a clean, warming alcohol note.

Taste. Intense flavors of dark chocolate and roasted grain lead into a mid-palate dominated by sweet coconut and vanilla bean. The malt provides a strong caramelized backbone. Bitterness is moderate to firm, providing enough balance to prevent a cloying finish. The aftertaste is long and complex, featuring lingering roast, cocoa, and a smooth alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Very full-bodied, thick, and chewy with a velvety, luscious creaminess. Carbonation is low to moderate. A noticeable, smooth alcoholic warmth is present without being sharp or solventy.
