Cerveza Caleya

Caleya Heisenberg is a vibrant Double IPA that showcases an intense aromatic interplay between Citra and Nelson Sauvin hops. The nose is dominated by Citra’s punchy notes of pink grapefruit and tropical mango, elegantly layered with the signature white grape and crushed gooseberry character of Nelson Sauvin. On the palate, a clean, grainy malt backbone supports a wave of citrus zest and passionfruit, leading into a firm but smooth bitterness. Despite its 7.8% ABV, the finish remains remarkably dry and crisp, with a subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth and a lingering resinous hop trail. It is a modern, hop-forward powerhouse.

Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (7 SRM) with a modern, slight hop haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, white frothy head with excellent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring explosive passionfruit, gooseberry, and Sauvignon Blanc grape notes from the Nelson Sauvin, complemented by Citra’s bright lime and grapefruit zest. Malt is neutral and grainy in the background, with a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of tropical fruit and citrus oils dominate the initial impression. A low, supportive, cracker-like malt character provides balance without sweetness. Bitterness is high and firm but remains smooth. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the crispness. Provides a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth and no hop-derived astringency.
