This Double IPA is an intensified evolution of the brewery's flagship, delivering a punchy sensory experience. It leads with a powerful aromatic profile of Citra and Mosaic hops, showcasing layers of ripe mango, pink grapefruit, and resinous pine. The palate is defined by a firm, clean bitterness that balances a lean, neutral malt backbone. At 8.5% ABV, it presents a smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth that enhances the hop saturation without veering into heaviness. The finish is strikingly dry and lingering, leaving a crisp trail of citrus peel and tropical fruit character consistent with the modern West Coast style.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (approx. 8 SRM). Clear to slightly hazy with a large, persistent, off-white creamy head that leaves decorative lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominated by modern American hop notes: bright tangerine, passion fruit, and a touch of resinous cedar. Background malt is neutral and grainy-sweet, with a clean fermentation profile and a very subtle hint of warming ethanol.
Taste. Initial punch of tropical fruit and citrus zest. Firm, moderately high bitterness that is smooth rather than harsh. Low, clean malt character provides a soft platform for the hops. Fermentation is clean, leading into a medium-dry, crisp finish with a long, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, almost velvety texture. Moderate-high carbonation. Noticeable but restrained alcohol warmth that adds to the beer's substantial character without being solventy.
