Cerveza Caleya

Caleya’s Catastrofonic is a vibrant Hazy IPA that exemplifies modern juice-forward hopping. The double dry-hopping process utilizes Mosaic, Bru-1, and Sabro to create a saturated sensory experience. Bold aromas of ripe pineapple from the Bru-1 lead the charge, supported by the signature blueberry and stone fruit notes of Mosaic. A distinct coconut and cedar-like creaminess from the Sabro adds a unique tropical complexity. The palate is velvety and soft, balancing a moderate bitterness with a grainy, bready malt backbone. It finishes with a lingering citrus peel and tropical fruit zest, offering an incredibly smooth and aromatic drinking experience.

Appearance. Straw to light orange (SRM 4-6) with a dense, opaque haze providing a soft glow. A thick, mousse-like white head shows high retention and leaves intricate lacing.

Aroma. High-intensity hop aroma dominated by fresh-cut pineapple, passion fruit, and a hint of creamy coconut. Subtle notes of sweet berries and tangerine zest emerge against a clean, bready malt background with neutral fermentation esters.

Taste. Initial explosion of pineapple and stone fruit gives way to a light coconut and lime character. Bitterness is moderate but soft, never harsh, supported by a light wheaty, grainy malt presence. The finish is off-dry and emphasizes hop saturation.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a remarkably smooth, pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. No astringency or hop burn, with a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
