Calero Trigo is a refreshing Weissbier defined by its classic hazy, pale appearance and vigorous carbonation. At a sessionable 4.2% ABV, it presents a delicate yet characteristic sensory profile driven by specialty yeast, delivering dominant notes of ripe banana and spicy clove. The grist, featuring a significant portion of malted wheat and Pilsner malt, provides a soft, bready foundation that balances the fermentation esters. With nearly imperceptible bitterness and a fluffy, moussy white head, this wheat beer concludes with a clean, spritzy, and highly effervescent finish that emphasizes its bright, thirst-quenching nature and traditional German character.
Appearance. Pale straw to pale gold (SRM 3). Markedly hazy with yeast in suspension. Features a thick, moussy, and long-lasting white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring prominent banana esters and spicy clove phenols. Supported by a clean, grainy wheat and bready malt profile. Very low floral hop notes are present.
Taste. Initial soft, bready wheat and grainy Pilsner malt sweetness. Well-balanced flavors of ripe banana and clove. Bitterness is very low, providing just enough structure to support a relatively dry and clean finish with a lingering yeast character.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a fluffy, creamy fullness. High to very high carbonation creates a spritzy, effervescent sensation. No perceptible alcohol warmth.
