This Imperial Stout pays homage to the cinematic history of Soria, evoking the stark, wintery soul of the Russian Steppe through its deep sensory profile. The pour reveals a liquid as dark as a Siberian night, releasing intense aromas of bittersweet chocolate, roasted espresso, and subtle dark fruits like dried figs and plums. On the palate, a complex layering of charred grain and black licorice melds with a firm, hop-driven bitterness. At 8% ABV, it offers a gentle, well-integrated warmth that mirrors the resilient spirit of the landscape, finishing with a lingering, velvety cocoa dryness and a harmonious balance between roast and sweetness.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque with deep mahogany highlights at the edges. Topped by a persistent, dense, dark tan head that leaves thick lacing on the glass. High viscosity is apparent with slight legs visible upon swirling.
Aroma. High intensity with a dominant profile of roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Secondary notes include black currants, raisins, and a touch of molasses. Very low earthy hop presence and a clean fermentation profile with a soft, vinous alcohol undercurrent.
Taste. Initial impression of rich, toasted malts and bittersweet cocoa. The mid-palate introduces complex dark fruit esters and a hint of licorice.
