Krubera is a strikingly lean Double IPA that prioritizes a crisp, highly attenuated finish over heavy malt presence. The aroma is a potent collision of big-hitting US and European hops, delivering a complex tapestry of resinous pine and citrus zest alongside refined floral and herbal notes. At 8.5% ABV, it maintains remarkable drinkability, offering a sharp, extra-dry profile that cuts through the intense bitterness. The palate is dominated by hop-derived saturation, leaving a clean, lingering bitterness that avoids harshness, embodying a modern, refreshing take on the style that focuses on hop purity and a snappy, dry mouthfeel.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (SRM 6-10) with good clarity. It supports a moderate-sized, persistent, white to off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring a blend of tropical fruit, citrus, and resinous pine from US varieties, complemented by floral and spicy notes from European hops. Malt character is low and neutral, providing a grainy, unobtrusive background with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Dominant hop flavors reflecting the diverse aroma profile with citrus, herb, and pine notes. Bitterness is high and firm but remains smooth. The malt is minimalist, offering a clean, soft support that yields quickly to an extra-dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste is long and hop-forward without any syrupy residue.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body, noticeably lean and attenuated. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the crisp sensation. A well-integrated, smooth alcohol warmth is present but remains restrained.
