Hidden Figures by Buxton Brewery is a Hazy IPA that celebrates tropical vibrancy with a sophisticated, smooth delivery. The pour presents a striking opaque glow, leading into an intense aromatic profile dominated by ripe mango, passion fruit, and citrus zest. A soft, bready malt backbone provides a steady platform for the hop-forward character without introducing competing caramel notes. On the palate, the experience is decidedly juicy, featuring layers of stone fruit and pineapple that glide over a creamy, pillowy texture. With its restrained bitterness and clean finish, this beer achieves a cosmic balance between high-impact fruitiness and effortless drinkability.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (4 SRM) with a distinct hazy shine and opaque clarity. Features a medium, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent tropical fruit notes of mango, pineapple, and passion fruit, complemented by sweet citrus. Clean, lightly bready, and grainy malt in the background with no caramel; neutral fermentation character.
Taste. High tropical and stone fruit hop flavors dominate the initial impression. Low to medium-low bitterness that is soft and never harsh. Malt is light and bready, supporting the hop oils. The finish is off-dry to medium and smooth, with a lingering juice-like aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a characteristic soft, plush texture. Moderate carbonation and very smooth; lacks any harshness, astringency, or significant alcohol warmth.
