Featherbed is a light yet lusciously textured Hazy IPA that captures the essence of liquid sunshine. Despite its sessionable strength, it delivers a high-intensity hop profile bursting with tropical fruit, ripe stone fruit, and zesty citrus notes. The malt provides a neutral, bready foundation that allows the juicy hop character to shine without the distraction of caramel or toast. True to its name, the mouthfeel is remarkably soft and pillowy, offering a smooth, rounded experience that masks a restrained bitterness. This beer finishes clean and off-dry, inviting another sip of its vibrant, fruit-forward complexity.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold with a distinct, opaque haze providing a luminous shine. It is topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromas of mango, passion fruit, and bright tangerine dominate the nose. A background of clean, bready, and lightly grainy malt supports the fruitiness without any toasted or caramel notes.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors of peach and pineapple lead into a soft, grainy malt mid-palate. Bitterness is low to moderate and exceptionally smooth, never becoming harsh. The finish is off-dry and emphasizes lingering tropical juice notes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a characteristic pillowy softness and creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, and there is no astringency or alcohol warmth, ensuring a smooth and approachable drinking experience.
