Waveform is a modern American Pale Ale that highlights the synergy between the expressive Fruitbowl yeast and a complex hop bill. A vibrant bouquet of pineapple and passionfruit stems from the combination of Strata and Idaho 7, while Citra provides a sharp citrus backbone. Subtle, intriguing nuances of tropical wood and stone fruit emerge from the inclusion of HBC 472 and HBC 630, layered over a lean, grainy malt base. The palate is punchy and tropical, delivering immediate fruit saturation followed by a clean, moderate bitterness. It finishes dry and refreshing, emphasizing the bright, contemporary character of New World hops.
Appearance. Pale golden color (6 SRM). Large, white, persistent head with fine lacing. Generally clear with a very slight, modern hop haze.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring bold pineapple, passionfruit, and mango. Distinctive citrus notes of grapefruit and lime are present. A low, neutral grainy maltiness supports the fruit, while the yeast adds light, complementary fruity esters.
Taste. Initial punch of tropical fruits and citrus. Pineapple and berry-like flavors lead into a moderate hop bitterness that is firm but not harsh. The malt is supportive and neutral-grainy. The finish is medium-dry and clean, with lingering notes of passionfruit and light resin.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a refreshing prickle. Alcohol warmth is light and well-integrated.
