Six Acre West is a vibrant American Pale Ale that masterfully balances a clean, neutral malt foundation with a sophisticated hop profile. The initial sensory impact is defined by the whirlpool addition of Motueka, providing a bright lime and citrus base. The double dry-hop layers of Chinook and Nelson Sauvin introduce bold notes of resinous pine and vinous white grape, while Mosaic and Strata contribute a rich complexity of grapefruit and tropical fruit. Finishing with the innovative HBC586, the beer offers a deep, multi-faceted stone fruit character. This West Coast expression culminates in a firm, lingering bitterness that remains crisp and refreshing on the palate.

Appearance. Deep gold (SRM 6-7) with brilliant clarity. It pours with a moderately large, white, frothy head that demonstrates excellent retention and leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent vinous white grape from Nelson Sauvin and resinous pine from Chinook. These are layered over tropical notes of passion fruit and mango provided by Mosaic and Strata, supported by a low, clean, bready malt sweetness and neutral fermentation esters.

Taste. The palate leads with sharp grapefruit and lime citrus from Motueka, followed by complex tropical fruit and berry flavors from HBC586. A firm hop bitterness provides a classic West Coast structure against a lean, neutral grainy malt backdrop. The balance is decisively hop-forward, leading to a dry, clean finish with a lingering, resinous aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with moderate-high carbonation that enhances the crispness of the finish. It is smooth across the tongue with a very subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth and a clean profile devoid of astringency.
