Burnt Mill Brewery
Point Success is a vibrant, hop-forward American IPA that captures the essence of the Pacific Northwest. Dominant aromas of zesty grapefruit and fresh lemon peel from Citra and Cascade hops lead the experience, supported by the resinous, forest-floor pine notes characteristic of Simcoe. The sensory profile is defined by a robust, clean bitterness that cuts through a crisp, lean malt foundation. On the palate, the hop-derived citrus intensity remains punchy and vibrant, finishing bone-dry and refreshing. This West Coast expression is brilliantly clear with a lean body, emphasizing a focused, lupulin-driven character that lingers with a pleasant, piney snap.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber (7-9 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a dense, white, long-lasting head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent grapefruit, orange zest, and floral notes from Citra and Cascade, alongside a distinct resinous and woody pine character from Simcoe. Low, clean, bready malt support. Neutral fermentation profile.
Taste. Immediate, firm hop bitterness that is clean and sharp. Flavors of pithy citrus and sticky pine needles dominate, backed by a very low, crackery malt presence. The balance is decidedly bitter and hop-forward, leading to a crisp, dry, and lingering hoppy finish.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, non-astringent texture. Moderate-high carbonation provides a crisp, tongue-tingling sensation. Very subtle alcohol warmth is well-integrated.
