Burnt Mill Brewery

Perpetual Fog is a modern Double IPA that highlights an intricate hop saturation. A soft, clean malt foundation allows a vibrant profile of Nelson Sauvin and Mosaic hops to lead, delivering distinctive vinous notes of white grape alongside bright citrus and mixed berries. The strategic addition of Enigma adds a sophisticated layer of dankness and deep, sweet fruitiness. While robust at 8% ABV, the beer maintains a smooth, drinkable character with a layered cocktail of tropical fruit sensations. This expressive profile balances intense hop character against a refined bitterness, resulting in a sophisticated and aromatic sensory experience that evolves with every sip.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM). Large, creamy, persistent white head with excellent lacing. Hazy to opaque appearance.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring a complex blend of passion fruit, mango, and distinct white wine-like vinous notes. Bright citrus and ripe berries are evident, supported by a subtle, dank, resinous undertone. The malt character is low, clean, and grainy-sweet, acting as a neutral canvas for the hops.

Taste. Initial impression is a wash of tropical fruit and vinous white grape. Mid-palate reveals layers of sweet berries and citrus zest. A soft, unobtrusive malt profile provides enough body to support the high hop load without adding significant sweetness. Bitterness is firm and assertive but lacks harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a long, lingering aftertaste of tropical fruit and hop resins.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a lively mouthfeel. A gentle, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but not solventy. No hop-derived astringency is perceived.
