Burnt Mill Brewery

High Reflections is a modern West Coast-style American IPA that showcases a sophisticated interplay between a structured malt base and pungent hop saturation. A foundation of Vienna malt and Caramalt provides a toasted, moreish grain character with a hint of honeyed sweetness, while Dextrin malts ensure a smooth, rounded mouthfeel. The hop profile is led by Citra in the whirlpool, establishing a bright citrus base. Assertive dry-hopping with Mosaic, Chinook, and Simcoe adds a complex cocktail of berries, grapefruit, and a robust pine backbone. The experience is defined by dank fruit notes and a crisp, clean bitterness that lingers pleasantly on a dry finish.

Appearance. Medium gold with brilliant clarity. Pours with a persistent, frothy off-white head that leaves dense, soapy lacing on the glass as it recedes.

Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring prominent notes of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and mixed tropical berries. A clean, supporting maltiness offers light toasted bread and grainy sweetness. No yeast-derived esters; fermentation profile is exceptionally clean.

Taste. Initial impression is a sharp, clean hop bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Layers of grapefruit, mango, and earthy pine needles dominate the palate. The malt provides a medium-low toasted grain and light caramel flavor that balances the high bitterness. Finishes dry and crisp with a long, resinous aftertaste of pine and citrus pith.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively and refreshing bite. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated; no astringency present.
