Green Path is a modern American IPA that bridges the gap between classic West Coast structure and contemporary fruit-forward profiles. The sensory experience is dominated by an exuberant tropical fruit party driven by the layering of Citra and Mosaic hops. Expect vibrant bursts of mango and passionfruit from the Mosaic, paired with the bright citrus zest and grapefruit character of Citra. The malt profile is intentionally stripped back to a lean, grainy foundation, allowing these hop oils to remain the focus. Despite its West Coast leanings, the bitterness is notably restrained, leading to a crisp, dry finish that emphasizes high drinkability.
Appearance. Medium gold with brilliant clarity. A medium-sized, persistent white head leaves delicate lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromatics lead with pungent tropical fruit—mango, guava, and pineapple—intermingled with grapefruit zest and a hint of resinous pine. The malt presence is low and clean, offering a faint crackery or grainy note. Fermentation is very clean with no notable esters.
Taste. The initial impression is hop-forward, bursting with tropical fruit and citrus flavors. A very low, clean, grainy maltiness provides a minimalist backbone. Bitterness is moderate-low, significantly smoother than traditional examples of the style. The profile is remarkably lean, finishing very dry and clean with a lingering essence of citrus peel and tropical fruit.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a crisp, smooth texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the beer’s refreshing qualities. Alcohol warmth is very light and well-integrated. No astringency or harshness.
