Diamond Lake is a vibrant American Pale Ale that showcases the distinctive terroir of New Zealand hops. A base of neutral pale malts provides a clean canvas for a bright melody of Southern Hemisphere aromatics. Motueka adds fresh, zesty layers of lemon and lime, while the dry-hop additions of Nelson Sauvin and the unique Eggers Special contribute complex notes of white peach, grapefruit, and lush tropical fruits. This pale ale strikes an elegant balance between fruit-forward intensity and a crisp, moderate bitterness. It finishes clean and refreshing, emphasizing the unique stone fruit and citrus characteristics of its specialty hop blend.
Appearance. Pale golden (approx. 6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Supports a moderately large, persistent white head with good retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high hop intensity featuring prominent lime zest, grapefruit, and tropical passionfruit. A neutral, grainy malt character provides a light foundation. Very low fruity esters; clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial hop-forward impression of lemon-lime and white peach. Moderate bitterness is well-integrated with a light, crackery malt backbone. Flavors of grapefruit and tropical fruit lead into a medium-dry, crisp finish. Clean aftertaste without harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, soft texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a lively, refreshing mouthfeel. No alcohol warmth or astringency present.
