This collaboration explores the Cold IPA style, utilizing Lost and Grounded’s clean house yeast to forge a crisp, lager-like foundation for a vibrant hop showcase. A lean malt profile provides a transparent stage for Chinook and Columbus hops to deliver assertive layers of resinous pine and dank earthiness. These classic notes are softened by the modern, tropical fruit complexities of HBC 586, resulting in a bright, multifaceted profile. The result is a decidedly hop-forward American IPA that finishes exceptionally dry and refreshing, balancing old-school Pacific Northwest character with contemporary fruit-forward intensity and a gluten-free composition.

Appearance. Straw to light gold (6 SRM). Brilliant clarity with a persistent, fine-beaded white head that leaves delicate lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent resinous pine and dank, herbal notes. These are complemented by a distinct tropical fruit medley of mango and guava. The malt presence is very low and neutral, providing a clean, cracker-like background with a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. The initial impression is a crisp, clean bitterness. Dominant hop flavors of spruce, resin, and dank earth transition into softer notes of pineapple and stone fruit. The malt flavor is low and grainy-sweet, strictly supportive. Bitterness is firm and assertive but not harsh. Finishes very dry and clean with a lingering resinous and tropical aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a brisk, moderate-high carbonation that enhances the crispness. Smooth texture with no astringency and a very faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
