Sirius is a sophisticated Foreign Extra Stout that balances deep roasting with nuanced complexity. Built on a foundation of Barke Munich and lager malts, it presents a rich tapestry of dark chocolate and espresso. The addition of rye provides a subtle peppery snap, while Black Strap molasses introduces layers of licorice and dark treacle. Noble hops offer a restrained herbal counterpoint to the decadent roasted wheat profile. This brew delivers a contemplative experience, marrying a smooth, creamy texture with a moderately dry, lingering finish that highlights its heritage ingredients and structured malt bill.

Appearance. Very deep brown to opaque black in color (35-40 SRM). Features a large, dense tan head with excellent retention and significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity of roasted grain, specifically dark chocolate and freshly ground coffee. Notable scents of molasses and licorice mingle with a light peppery spice from the rye. Low herbal hop aroma and subtle dark fruit esters are present.

Taste. Robust initial impression of roasted malt, cocoa, and lightly burnt toast. The Black Strap molasses adds a deep, savory sweetness that is quickly balanced by medium-high bitterness. Rye provides a distinctive grain character and light spice. Finishes moderately dry with lingering coffee notes and a clean, herbal hop flavor.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture enhanced by the roasted wheat. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift, accompanied by a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
