Köbes is a refined tribute to the classic ale of Cologne, balancing the crispness of a lager with the delicate esters of a top-fermented ale. The use of premium Bavarian Pilsner malt provides a lean, grainy-sweet foundation with a distinctive whisper of honey. Specially imported Tettnanger hops deliver a sophisticated herbal profile, enhanced by a subtle dry-hop addition that yields fresh aromas of cut grass. Its brilliantly clear, pale gold appearance leads to a soft yet well-attenuated palate. The finish is remarkably dry and clean, showcasing the classic Kölsch yeast strain's ability to create a harmonious, elegant, and highly drinkable session beer.
Appearance. Brilliantly clear, pale gold to medium yellow color. Topped with a delicate, bright white head that shows moderate persistence and light lacing.
Aroma. Low to moderate intensity with a clean, grainy-sweet malt presence and a touch of honey. The Tettnanger hops provide a fresh, herbal, and spicy character with a notable scent of freshly cut grass. Very low, subtle fruity esters reminiscent of green apple or pear linger in the background.
