This celebratory West Coast IPA showcases a vibrant, modern hop profile driven by Nelson and Strata, amplified by their concentrated CGX counterparts. The experience begins with an explosion of white wine grape, crushed gooseberry, and passion fruit, underpinned by a signature dank herbaceousness. Bright notes of fresh strawberry and citrus zest from the Strata hops weave through a lean, crisp malt frame. A brilliant pale gold with a persistent white head, the beer delivers a firm, clean bitterness that defines the palate. It leads into a bone-dry finish that emphasizes the expressive New Zealand and Pacific Northwest hop character without any heavy malt interference.
Appearance. Clear, pale gold (SRM 6) with brilliant clarity. Features a medium-sized, frothy white head with excellent persistence and intricate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring Nelson notes of sauvignon blanc grape and gooseberry. Strata adds layers of passion fruit, strawberry, and a distinct dank, resinous quality. Low, clean, grainy maltiness supports the hops. Fermentation profile is neutral and clean.
Taste. Initial impression is sharply hop-forward with flavors of white grape, tropical fruit, and citrus. Medium-high to high bitterness is clean and non-harsh. Low, neutral cracker-like malt flavor provides a lean foundation. The finish is dry to very dry with a lingering hoppy, resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively mouthfeel. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated. No perceivable astringency.
