This West Coast IPA showcases the vibrant, multifaceted profile of fresh Strata hops, delivering an intense sensory experience typical of Burgeon’s crisp approach. The aroma leads with a burst of tropical passionfruit and ripe strawberry, layered over a classic resinous, dank backbone. Using wet hops imparts a unique, herbal-green freshness that elevates the bright grapefruit notes. On the palate, a clean base of pale malt provides a lean canvas for assertive bitterness to shine. It finishes exceptionally dry and refreshing, leaving a lingering trail of pine and berry that invites another sip of this bright, seasonal harvest celebration.
Appearance. Brilliant gold (approx. 7 SRM) with exceptional clarity. Topped by a persistent, frothy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by Strata characteristics: prominent passionfruit, wild strawberry, and grapefruit zest. A distinct leafy, grassy freshness from the fresh hops is evident, supported by a low, clean, grainy-sweet malt presence. Clean fermentation profile without esters.
Taste. Assertive hop-forward flavor mirroring the aroma with notes of tropical fruit, resinous pine, and a hint of dankness. Medium-high bitterness is firm but clean. Low grainy-sweet malt flavor. The balance is decidedly bitter with a very dry, crisp finish and a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate-high carbonation enhances the refreshing quality. Very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
