Kölsch 5 º 22 IBU
This traditional Kölsch offers a refreshing, straw-colored profile defined by its delicate balance and brilliant clarity. The sensory experience opens with a subtle bouquet of grainy-sweet Pilsner malt complemented by faint notes of pear and apple. A distinctive but gentle hop character emerges in the finish, providing flashes of herbal and spicy notes typical of noble hop varieties. Its soft, rounded palate and crisp, dry finish make it an exceptional companion for light fare like salmon or salads. This brew captures the essence of Cologne, delivering a clean fermentation profile that bridges the gap between ale fruitiness and lager-like crispness.
Appearance. Straw to light gold (approx. 4 SRM). Brilliantly clear with a delicate, fine-beaded white head that leaves light lacing.
Aroma. Subtle intensity. Clean, grainy-sweet malt aroma with very low notes of honey or cracker. Faint esters of green apple and pear are present. Very low herbal and floral hop aroma provides a fresh, clean background.
Taste. Delicate balance of soft, bready malt and low fruitiness. Initial impression is neutral-grainy followed by a medium-low bitterness. The finish is crisp and dry, without harshness or residual sweetness. Hop flavor is low, showing spicy and floral qualities that linger briefly in the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with medium-high carbonation that enhances the crispness. Smooth and soft texture on the tongue with no perceived alcohol warmth or astringency.
