La Brunehaut Wit es una cerveza de un estilo muy representativo en Bégica, las cervezas de trigo belga, con unas características muy personales. Además en el caso de la gama Brunehaut estamos hablando de cervezas sin gluten y orgánicas de la Brasserie de Brunehaut. Esta cerveza está elaborada con materias orgánicas certificadas, y es perfecta para todas aquellas personas con algún tipo de intolerancia al gluten y que además le dan valor a todo lo relacionado con la producción sostenible.
La Wit, o Blanche, es una cerveza súper refrescante y ligera, muy apetecible de beber, sobretodo en épocas de calor y buen tiempo. Es un estilo icónico y tradicional de las cervezas belgas, en cuya elaboración, además del trigo, se emplean también el cilantro y la piel de naranja de curacao, lo que la hacen extremadamente saciante y bebible.
La fábrica original de Brunehaut fue fundada en 1890 por la familia Allard en la localidad belga de Guignies, perteneciente al cantón de Brunehaut. Es una fábrica muy tradicional que aún conserva varios de los procesos de elaboración que empleaban en sus inicios, con el aporte, lógica y necesariamente, de la modernización industrial, pero sin olvidar esa esencia. La familia de Brunehaut pueden presumir de ser muy autóctonos y procuran emplear en sus elaboraciones materias primas de Km 0, de hecho parte del cereal que emplean en la elaboración de sus cervezas lo cosechan en su propia granja, situada en el pueblo de Gaurain-Ramecroix, en la provincia belga de Henao, donde también usan agua de un pequeño acuífero que pasa bajo la propia cervecería. Vista: estamos ante una cerveza de un color amarillo pajizo, ligeramente velada, una espuma blanca consistente y abunadante.
Olfato: en aroma presenta matices florales, cítricos y maltosos, con una sensación de frescura muy elevada.
Gusto: en boca su sabor resulta algo más refrescante con notas cítricas, de la piel de naranja y el cilantro, florales y un ligero dulzor muy fino que acompaña perfectamente al amargor moderado en final de boca.
Sensación: estamos ante una cerveza con una textura muy aterciopelada, efervescente casi, con una buena carbonatación muy fina e ideal para acompañar por ejemplo con unas almejas a la marinera.
