Brujos Brewing The Staff II (Silver Moon Edition)
This New Zealand Pilsner exemplifies a fusion of traditional structure and modern aromatics. Tettnanger and Saaz hops provide a subtle, spicy, and herbal foundation on the hot side, which is brilliantly layered with a heavy dry-hop of Nelson Sauvin, Quantum Nelson, Nectaron, and NZ Cascade. These New World varieties deliver vibrant notes of gooseberry, white wine grapes, and tropical passionfruit. A neutral, bready malt base supports the firm bitterness, leading to a smooth, refreshing finish. The sensory experience is defined by its clean lager character and a lush, fruit-forward hop profile that remains crisp and incredibly drinkable.
Appearance. Yellow-gold (3-4 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Features a thick, creamy white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring gooseberry, lime, and white grape, with subtle spicy and floral notes from Saaz and Tettnanger. Low bready-crackery malt support; clean fermentation with a very low sulfur hint.
Taste. Leading with intense flavors of tropical fruit, passionfruit, and citrus from Nectaron and NZ Cascade. Medium-high clean bitterness is well-balanced by a neutral, grainy-sweet malt character. The finish is dry, smooth, and refreshing with a lingering grassy and fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a noticeably smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively mouthfeel without being sharp. No perceived alcohol warmth or astringency.
