This modern Hazy IPA presents a sophisticated sensory profile defined by the innovative use of Phantasm. The New Zealand grape skin powder drives intense thiol-derived notes of white wine, gooseberry, and succulent white grapes. These vinous qualities are layered atop a lush, tropical foundation provided by Idaho 7, which contributes ripe mango and pineapple character. Sabro adds a distinctive creamy coconut accent that enhances the beer's juicy impression. The overall experience is one of high fruit intensity, supported by a soft, pillowy malt base that ensures a smooth, approachable finish despite the complex hop and adjunct interplay.
Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine, free of visible particulates or yeast clumps. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop and thiol aroma featuring white wine, green grape, and passion fruit. Distinct notes of sweet coconut and tropical fruit (mango, pineapple) are prominent. Low, neutral grainy-bready malt sits in the background, with a clean fermentation profile and no harsh herbal or grassy notes.
Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors of white grape and tropical citrus. Initial impression is juicy and soft. Sabro provides a mid-palate coconut sweetness, while Idaho 7 lends pineapple depth. Low to medium-high perceived bitterness that is smooth and integrated. Low bready malt flavor. The finish is off-dry to medium and exceptionally smooth with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, rounded texture. Moderate carbonation. Smooth and creamy without being viscous or heavy. No hop harshness or astringency, and very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
