This Coffee Stout presents a deep, sensory exploration of freshly roasted coffee from KYOTO Coffee Roasters and premium cocoa beans from Beskid Chocolate. The aroma is dominated by dark-roasted beans and rich, bittersweet chocolate, layered over a base of charred malt and subtle caramel. On the palate, a velvety texture carries intense flavors of espresso and dark cocoa nibs, merging seamlessly with the roasted bitterness of the Stout base. The finish is long and harmonious, echoing notes of baker’s chocolate and cold-brew coffee. It is a well-integrated example of a Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer that highlights its adjuncts without losing its foundational identity.
Appearance.Deep ebony to opaque black (SRM 40). A thick, creamy, tan head persists well, leaving fine lacing. Mostly opaque with brilliant clarity only visible at the extreme edges.
Aroma.High intensity of freshly ground coffee and roasted cocoa beans. Secondary notes of dark chocolate, toasted bread, and a hint of dark fruit esters. Hop aroma is absent, allowing the specialty ingredients to lead with a clean fermentation profile.
Taste.Initial rich chocolate sweetness followed by a robust wave of coffee. The malt profile provides flavors of burnt toast and cocoa. Bitterness is moderate, derived from both roasted grains and coffee, balanced by a light residual sweetness. The finish is clean but lingering with a roasted bean character and a pleasant cocoa-driven complexity.
Mouthfeel.Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift to the palate. Very low alcohol warmth, well-integrated for its strength. No significant astringency is present despite the heavy additions of coffee and cocoa.
