This Hazy IPA showcases a vibrant, opaque straw appearance topped with a persistent, meringue-like white head. The sensory profile is led by an intense, multi-layered hop bouquet; Citra provides foundational notes of ripe mango and citrus, while Nelson Sauvin introduces sophisticated aromas of crushed white grapes and gooseberry. Motueka completes the profile with a bright, mojito-like lime zest. On the palate, a soft, pillowy mouthfeel supports these tropical flavors, balanced by a clean, bready malt backbone. Despite the 45 IBU, the bitterness is smooth and unobtrusive, leading to a juicy, off-dry finish that emphasizes the unique Southern Hemisphere hop character.
Appearance. Straw to light orange color (4-6 SRM); opaque, hazy clarity with a healthy glow; medium-high, rocky white head with excellent retention and lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop-forward aroma featuring heavy tropical fruit, mango, and passion fruit from Citra, complemented by the distinct white wine, grape, and gooseberry character of Nelson Sauvin and lime zest from Motueka. Low grainy-bready malt; clean fermentation profile with light fruity esters.
Taste. Very high fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of citrus, melon, and stone fruit. Low bready malt flavor provides a neutral base. Perceived bitterness is moderate but soft and well-integrated into the full body. Finish is juicy and off-dry with a clean, lingering tropical fruit aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, soft, and slightly creamy texture. Medium carbonation. Light, well-integrated alcohol warmth. No astringency or harsh hop bite.
