This Classic Style Smoked Beer presents an imposing profile, where deep roasted grains meet assertive campfire smoke and sophisticated barrel character. A nine-month residency in rum barrels imparts rich layers of molasses, spiced vanilla, and toasted oak that integrate with the base beer's dark chocolate and espresso notes. The smoke is prominent but remains clean and woody, weaving through the dense malt tapestry. Hints of dried plum and black cherry emerge as it warms, while the significant alcohol presence is smoothed by the rum’s natural sweetness. It is a bold, complex sipper that balances intensity with structural elegance.
Appearance. Opaque, deep ebony (SRM 40+) with a thick, creamy, tan head that shows excellent retention and leaves dense lacing.
Aroma. High intensity aromatics of campfire smoke and charred oak blend seamlessly with rich dark chocolate, roasted coffee, and molasses. Distinct rum notes provide a background of vanilla and dark fruit esters, with no harsh phenolic or rubbery scents.
