This Irish Stout, a collaboration between Browar Rockmill and Nisha, presents a quintessentially dark and roasty profile enhanced by a nitro pour. It opens with a striking aroma of moderate coffee-like roast and dark chocolate, leading into a palate defined by bittersweet cocoa and a firm, hop-driven bitterness. At 4.7% ABV, it maintains a sessionable character while the nitro infusion creates a signature creamy texture that rounds out the sharp roasted grains. The finish is remarkably dry and clean, leaving a lingering impression of cold-brew coffee and earthy hops. It is a sophisticated, well-balanced example of the style that prioritizes smoothness and drinkability.
Appearance. Jet black and opaque with deep ruby highlights visible at the edges. Features a thick, dense, and creamy tan head with exceptional persistence and lacing due to the nitro dispense.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring dominant notes of roasted coffee and toasted grain. Subtle secondary aromas of dark chocolate and unsweetened cocoa are present. Very low earthy hop character and minimal fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial flavors of roasted barley and sharp coffee dominate, supported by a medium-high bitterness. The mid-palate offers hints of bittersweet chocolate and a faint, grainy malt sweetness.
