This Double IPA launches a massive sensory payload driven by an intricate blend of New World hops. The aroma is dominated by intense bursts of pineapple and passionfruit from BRU-1 and Vic Secret, layered over the bright mandarin citrus of Eclipse and Galaxy. The addition of oat malt and wheat malt creates a soft, velvety texture that tempers the firm bitterness, while rice flakes ensure the finish remains crisp and dry. On the palate, Topaz contributes a subtle resinous depth that anchors the more volatile tropical notes. It is a powerful, fruit-forward experience that highlights modern hop complexity against a clean, supportive malt backdrop.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7–9 SRM); features a tall, persistent white head with dense lacing; slight to moderate haze from the high hopping rate and protein-rich oats and wheat.
Aroma. Intense hop-forward profile with prominent notes of pineapple, passionfruit, and sweet mandarin orange. Secondary notes of resin and light spice appear over a clean, neutral, grainy malt base. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.
Taste. High hop bitterness is firm but lacks harshness, supporting layers of tropical fruit, citrus zest, and a touch of herbal pine. The malt flavor is low and neutral, presenting as light crackers or soft dough. The finish is dry to medium-dry with a long-lasting, resinous hop aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notable silkiness from the oat and wheat additions. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite that cuts through the gravity. A gentle, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated.
