Fusion is a vibrant hybrid that bridges the gap between a classic German Pils and a modern West Coast IPA. It presents a crisp, clean foundation built on German Pilsner malt, offering subtle notes of toasted cracker and light honey. This malt profile is aggressively layered with a 17.0 g/l hop rate that introduces a sharp, resinous edge and citrus-forward character typical of American West Coast varieties. The result is a highly attenuated, refreshing lager that retains the elegant, dry finish of a traditional German Pils while delivering the bold, aromatic punch and firm bitterness of a contemporary hop-forward ale.
Appearance. Straw to deep gold (3-4 SRM), brilliant clarity with a tall, creamy, long-lasting white head that leaves persistent lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High hop intensity featuring a complex blend of spicy, floral German character alongside citrusy, resinous, and piney notes from the West Coast influence. Underneath, a low grainy-sweet, doughy, and cracker-like malt aroma persists with a very clean fermentation profile.
Taste. Initial light honey and grainy malt flavors are rapidly overtaken by a dominant hop profile of lemon zest, pine, and floral spice. The bitterness is firm and clean, leading into a very dry, crisp, and refreshing finish. The aftertaste is long and bitter with a lingering flinty or mineral quality.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation that enhances the crispness. The mouthfeel is smooth yet sharp, lacking any harshness or astringency, with a slight refreshing bite from the hop-derived bitterness.
