This commanding Imperial Stout merges massive dark malt complexity with the unforgettable signature of Islay Scotch whisky. It pours an opaque, midnight black with a persistent dark tan head. The sensory journey begins with an assertive aroma of espresso, dark chocolate, and intense peat smoke, underscored by medicinal iodine and charred oak from its time in Laphroaig barrels. On the palate, a velvety-thick body carries deep bittersweet cocoa and roasted barley flavors, beautifully contrasted by phenolic peat, earthy tobacco, and sea salt. It finishes dry and incredibly warming, leaving a lingering trail of smoky warmth.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. Pours with a dense, persistent dark tan head that leaves thick lacing. Viscous legs are visible on the glass when swirled, indicating high alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich roasted malt aromas of bittersweet chocolate, dark espresso, and charred grain are heavily intertwined with intense peaty smoke, medicinal iodine, and sea breeze from Laphroaig barrel aging. Light dark-fruit esters of raisin and prune mingle with a prominent but smooth alcohol warmth.

Taste. An intense initial impression of bittersweet cocoa, espresso, and caramelized sugar, rapidly enveloped by bold peaty smoke, earthy tobacco, and medicinal Islay whisky character. Firm bitterness balances the malt sweetness, leading to a complex finish of roasted grain, earthy peat, oak tannin, and clean, lingering alcohol warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied, incredibly chewy, and velvety in texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the luscious weight on the palate. Prominent but smooth alcohol warmth is present, complemented by a mild, drying oak astringency.
