This celebratory Eisbock is an exercise in extreme concentration, having evolved from a rich Barleywine through twelve months of maturation in Woodford Reserve barrels before undergoing freeze-distillation. The result is a viscous, mahogany liquid teeming with intense aromas of toasted oak, dark caramel, and vanilla. On the palate, the 19% alcohol is remarkably integrated, offering a smooth, warming sensation rather than a sharp burn. Layers of sun-dried plums, figs, and a touch of coconut from the bourbon barrels meld with a deep, bready malt foundation. It finishes with a lingering, luxurious sweetness balanced by charred oak and spirituous complexity.

Appearance. Deep mahogany to dark brown with brilliant ruby highlights (30+ SRM); clarity is high despite the density. The head is minimal, deep ivory in color, with poor retention, though pronounced legs cling to the glass.

Aroma. Intense and complex; dominated by rich, bready malt and significant bourbon-soaked oak. Notes of vanilla, toasted coconut, and caramel from the Woodford Reserve barrels mingle with concentrated dark fruit esters of prune and raisin. No hop aroma is present; clean fermentation with a prominent but smooth alcohol presence.

Taste. Massive malt sweetness initially, featuring flavors of dark toffee, molasses, and Maillard-driven toastiness. The mid-palate reveals the barrel influence with charred oak and sweet bourbon character. Hop bitterness is low, providing just enough structure to prevent a cloying character. The finish is long and warming, with a lingering dried fruit and vanilla aftertaste that remains silky and luxurious.

Mouthfeel. Full and highly viscous, bordering on syrupy. Carbonation is low to near-still. Alcohol warmth is significant and pervasive but remains smooth and velvety, lacking any harsh solvent or fusel notes.
