Walking Distance is a modern take on the American IPA, showcasing a vibrant New Zealand hop profile within a classic West Coast structure. The sensory experience is dominated by the expressive Waimea and Riwaka hops, which deliver a punchy aromatic blend of crushed lime zest, passionfruit, and a distinct resinous diesel-like undertone. A lean, cracker-like malt backbone ensures the hops remain the focal point, providing just enough support for the assertive bitterness. The beer displays a clean fermentation profile, allowing the unique Southern Hemisphere fruit and pine notes to shine. It concludes with a crisp, bone-dry finish and a lingering citrus pith aftertaste.

Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber (approx. 7 SRM). Brilliantly clear with a persistent, dense white head that leaves intricate lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of lime, grapefruit, and passionfruit from the Riwaka, paired with piney and slightly peppery notes from the Waimea. Very low, clean, grainy maltiness; no diacetyl or significant fermentation esters.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus and tropical fruit. Medium-high hop flavors of pomelo and peach lead into a firm, resinous bitterness. The malt flavor is low and neutral, providing a grainy, dry foundation. High bitterness is well-integrated but assertive. The finish is clean and very dry with a lingering hop-driven bitterness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a smooth, crisp texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a lively mouth-coating effect. A very light, smooth alcohol warmth is present but well-hidden at 7% ABV.
