Het Kolenfront is a potent Belgian Tripel that masterfully bridges monastic tradition with modern hop intensity. At 9.5% ABV, it presents a deceptive profile where high alcohol is masked by vibrant effervescence and a bone-dry finish. The signature triple-hop approach introduces lush tropical aromas of mango and pineapple, layering over classic peppery phenols and citrusy esters. A foundation of Pilsner malt provides a lean, honey-kissed grain character that supports the firm bitterness without adding weight. The result is a complex, high-gravity ale that remains surprisingly refreshing, finishing with a lingering, spicy hop snap and refined floral notes.

Appearance. Deep yellow to pale gold (6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a long-lasting, creamy, rocky white head that leaves dense, characteristic Belgian lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity with a seamless bouquet of peppery phenols and tropical fruity esters reminiscent of mango and pineapple. Soft, grainy-sweet Pilsner malt notes provide a honey-like background, complemented by a distinctive spicy and perfumy hop character and a low, well-integrated alcohol presence.

Taste. Complex initial impression of citrus and tropical fruit, followed by a soft, grainy malt sweetness. Significant peppery and clove-like yeast phenols emerge mid-palate. Firm bitterness (30–40 IBU) and high attenuation lead to a very dry, crisp finish. The aftertaste is a harmonious blend of spicy yeast and tropical hop flavors with no harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body that feels surprisingly light for the gravity. Highly carbonated and effervescent. Alcohol provides a subtle, deceptive warmth without being hot or fusel. Smooth and creamy texture.
