This indulgent American Stout presents a decadent sensory profile defined by its intensified scale and dessert-like leanings. A rich, nutty perfume of roasted peanuts dominates the foreground, seamlessly integrated with deep layers of dark chocolate and espresso-like roasted malts. On the palate, the oily richness of peanut butter provides a creamy texture that balances a firm roasted bitterness. Significant alcohol warmth glows through the mid-palate, supporting the heavy, velvet-like body. Despite its pastry-inspired sweetness, a lingering charred grain character and moderate hop presence ensure a structured, non-cloying finish that highlights the marriage of legume and bean.
Appearance. Opaque jet black (40+ SRM). A thick, persistent, deep tan head provides dense lacing against the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant aromas of roasted peanut butter and salty nut oils blend with secondary notes of dark cocoa, charred bread crust, and medium-roast coffee. Very low resinous hop aroma is overshadowed by rich, sweet malt and warming ethanol.
Taste. Bold initial impression of sweet peanut cream and bittersweet chocolate. Mid-palate reveals heavy roasted malt flavors of black coffee and burnt toast. Hop bitterness is moderate to high but softened by the viscous malt sugars. The finish is long and warming with a lingering peanut-shell and cocoa-powder aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Full, viscous, and coating body with a creamy, almost oily texture. Medium-low carbonation. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth. Minimal roast-derived astringency.
