This indulgent Imperial Stout offers a decadent sensory experience, merging a robust high-gravity base with the specific textures of a pastry-inspired profile. At 13% ABV, it presents an opaque, jet-black appearance with a viscous, dark tan head. The sensory profile is dominated by rich espresso and cocoa notes reminiscent of Tiramisu, layered with the distinct dark chocolate cookie and sweet vanilla cream character of Oreo additions. A deep, bready maltiness supports these specialty flavors, while the finish is lingering and sweet with a noticeable, well-integrated alcohol warmth. It is an exceptionally heavy, velvet-textured expression of the style.
Appearance. SRM 40+; jet black and completely opaque. A thick, creamy, deep tan to dark brown head provides moderate retention. High viscosity is visible as distinct legs on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity. Bold notes of freshly brewed espresso and dark chocolate cocoa dominate. Strong accents of vanilla bean and a sweet, creamy character are present, alongside subtle dark fruit esters like raisins. Roasty grain notes provide a sturdy foundation, accompanied by a pleasant, warming alcohol presence.
Taste. Intensely sweet and rich. Initial flavors of dark chocolate cookies and vanilla frosting lead into a mid-palate of bitter espresso and ladyfingers. The roast character is moderate, providing a balance to the pastry elements. Hop bitterness is present but largely masked by the massive malt body and residual sweetness. The finish is long, sweet, and complex with echoing notes of mocha and cream.
Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied; extremely viscous and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the beer's weight. A smooth, significant alcohol warmth is present, reflecting the 13% ABV without being sharp or fusel.
