This rich, mahogany-hued Doppelbock offers an indulgent sensory experience, led by intense aromas of dark chocolate and deep caramel. The addition of maple syrup and vanilla creates a luxurious layer of sweetness that complements the robust Munich malt base. While Hague hops provide a subtle, balancing counterpoint, the profile remains decidedly malty and smooth. At 8.9% ABV, it delivers a comforting warmth, weaving together notes of dark fruit leather and toasted bread. The finish is long and velvety, leaving a lingering impression of decadent maple and cocoa that perfectly captures the character of a late summer evening.

Appearance. SRM 20–25; dark brown with deep ruby highlights and excellent clarity. Topped by a large, dense, creamy, off-white head with persistent lacing.

Aroma. High intensity maltiness featuring rich Maillard products, toasted bread, and dark chocolate. Prominent sweet maple syrup and vanilla notes are present, backed by subtle dark fruit esters like plum and raisin. Hop aroma is very low, showing only a faint floral or spicy hint.

Taste. Initial impression is very rich and malty-sweet. Deep flavors of caramel, maple syrup, and vanilla dominate, layered over a dark chocolate and bready malt foundation. Hop bitterness is moderately low, ensuring a malt-forward balance. The finish is smooth and clean with a lingering sweetness of maple and dark fruit, showing good attenuation for such a strong lager.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and viscous with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is moderate-low. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth provides a pleasant glow without any harshness or astringency.
