Donderbus is an explosive, high-gravity take on the American Stout, delivering an intense sensory experience driven by its massive 11.2% ABV. The profile is dominated by a robust foundation of dark chocolate and roasted coffee beans, seamlessly integrated with the rich, nutty creaminess of peanut butter. While staying true to its style with a firm bitterness and a hint of resinous hop character, the beer embraces a pastry-like indulgence. The result is a deeply complex, velvet-textured ale where the warmth of the alcohol enhances the roasted malt depth, finishing with a lingering, bittersweet harmony of cocoa and earthiness.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (SRM 40+). It pours with a large, persistent head of deep tan foam that leaves thick lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity roast-forward aroma featuring dark chocolate and heavily roasted coffee beans. Notable nutty accents of peanut butter are present, complemented by a low citrusy hop note and a smooth, perceptible alcohol sweetness.

Taste. Initial impression is rich and bittersweet, featuring prominent dark chocolate and creamy peanut butter flavors. High bitterness from roasted grains and hops balances a low malt sweetness.
