Brouwerij Frontaal

Setting Sun Batch #2 is a luminous Hazy IPA that captures the essence of modern juice-forward brewing. The aroma is an explosive medley of tropical and stone fruits, where the specific inclusion of Simcoe, Citra, and Mosaic hops drives vibrant notes of mango, passionfruit, and zesty grapefruit. On the palate, the experience is soft and pillowy, echoing the aromatic profile with layers of papaya and blueberry supported by a clean, bready malt backbone. This beer balances its high hop intensity with a restrained, smooth bitterness and a lingering fruit finish, embodying the soft, approachable character typical of the Hazy IPA style.

Appearance. Straw to pale gold (approx. 4 SRM). Opaque with a characteristic hazy shine and no visible particulates. Topped with a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with high retention and beautiful lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring tropical fruit, stone fruit, and citrus. Citra and Mosaic provide dominant notes of mango, lime, and papaya, while Simcoe adds a subtle piney and passionfruit complexity. Background malt is neutral and lightly bready; fermentation character is clean with supportive fruity esters.

Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with layers of tangerine, ripe stone fruit, and tropical punch. The malt flavor is low to medium, providing a soft, grainy foundation. Perceived bitterness is low to medium-low, well-masked by the full body and a soft, off-dry finish that avoids any harshness or resinous burn.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full, soft, and pillowy body. Moderate carbonation contributes to a smooth, creamy texture. Very low alcohol warmth and no detectable astringency, providing a rounded and gentle mouthfeel.
