Brouwerij Frontaal

Cryosaurus is a vibrant Hazy IPA that leverages the clean, high-temperature fermentation profile of Kveik yeast to showcase a potent blend of cryo hops. The aromatic profile is dominated by the specific contributions of Talus, Citra, and Sabro, delivering a complex bouquet of pink grapefruit, tropical mango, and distinct coconut. These hop-derived notes are layered over a soft, bready malt base that provides a plush foundation. The use of cryo technology intensifies the lupulin impact, resulting in a saturated fruit character that remains smooth and juicy without the harshness often found in heavily hopped styles.

Appearance. Pours a hazy, luminous straw to pale gold with a characteristic shine. Topped by a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.

Aroma. High intensity aromatics lead with tropical mango and lime from the Citra, complemented by the unique coconut and cream notes of Sabro. The Talus provides a sophisticated layer of pink grapefruit and floral rose. Low bready and grainy malt presence remains in the background, while the Kveik yeast contributes a clean fermentation profile.

Taste. Massive fruity hop flavors mirror the aroma, featuring a saturated blend of citrus, tropical stone fruit, and tangerine. The bitterness is moderate but perceived as soft, beautifully integrated with a medium-low bready malt flavor. The finish is off-dry and exceptionally smooth, with a lingering fruit-forward aftertaste that avoids any resinous harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, plush texture. Carbonation is moderate, contributing to a smooth, rounded mouthfeel without being syrupy. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but subtle.
